Pete, the original, larger tank from this bike had small rusted pin holes through the seams at the bottom of it. I still have the tank and badges and have been reading up on the epoxy route and will hopefully have that fixed in due course.
Phil & Holger, I have the original 3 into 2 exhausts, but they are in a very poor condition and don't think I'll be able to salvage them. I have been unsuccessful in locating a decent set to date, but will continue looking. The exhaust that is on now has the Cowley 6 into 1 headers and I replaced the silencer can with a home made one that has more bark! In Zimbabwe we would rather make noise, be heard and seen before the possibility of someone doing what they do best here!!! The paint is not the original, but the closest match that a friend of mine could do!

I've never heard of the Cowley 6 into 1's... Google isn't much help on the subject either lol. Got any more information on them?

MikeZ, they were popular in the 80's in South Africa. Not sure where they were made, but we had them on all the big bikes of the day - Katanas, Z's, CBX's etc. All 4 into 1 or 6 into 1 configurations. Other pipes popular at the time in this region were Kerker, Bassani and a few others whose names elude me right now. Cowley were a patented design in the day. Will post a pic shortly of the slip on silencer that came off my headers.

Cool!
Thanks for the info! I wouldn't expect them to still be making any but it would definitely be nice to know what I'm looking at if I ever come across one .
