I need the advice of a master to aid this young jedi in his studies. I have a 1979 kz1300, needs whole engine rebuild, I wanted to know about compression possibilities, carburetor modification, exhuast, internals, from cams and idler gears, to bore and stroke.combinations, anyone out here who can help?

Welcome onboard mate !
You ask a lot of questions.
My advice to you would be to rebuild your engine to as near as stock as possible & then go from there if you have to.
The bike is really quite powerful & pleasant enough without altering things to try making it better.
There are many mods such as camchain tensioners & others, but I would say get the engine apart & inspect what you have inside & go from there.
Until the engine is built & running you cannot really start carb or exhaust tuning anyway, so lets get the engine sorted first.
Keep us informed how you are getting on & we will give you all the FREE advice you need.

Hi if I recall what I was told back in the early 80's the pistons are pretty close to the old KZ650's if that is any help to you.
