Looking forward to following your progress with the rebuild. Did you know the engine required major work when you bought the bike?
Which source did the exhaust system come from?

Lovely! Wish I had a workshop like that: light, space, workbench and ever carpet!

Hi the rebore was done to the first size up from standard, the z 650 pistons are supposed to be slightly lest compression than 1300's but when i did a cold compression test the results where within range and pretty even so i don't think i'll noticed
I bought the bike on ebay as a so call runner from a big bike dealer ship, got the big home, had to spend so money on the carbs mixer screws snapped carb bodies damage OZ at ZED PARTS rebuild them and to new carb bodies later then had to sought out the ignition side ,change the oil ,got it running but the oil started to come out of the exhaust .ON the plus side the engine good on horrible noises just the odd mis firer:)
