Thanks for the comments. Can’t wait to get her out and get in a few runs. Think all my gremlins are ahead of me as when I put the battery on the other night I’ve already got a few problems. The Indicators alternate from left to right when the hazards are on and the headlight dulls when I switch it to high beam. I’m sure I’ll figure it out but can’t do anything now for a couple of weeks.

Check the ground wires. Seen it soooooo many times before. A bad ground wire and the electricity trys to find it's way to ground via the path of least resistance.mizztheman wrote: Hi Tim,

What is the condition of the engine - cylinders valves etc.? Have you done anything with the cam chain tensioner?
I have a non running USA spec A4 too. I love the shape of the tank on this model, but I also like the shape of the tank on the A1 / A2 . I think, if ever I get my bike running, that I shall have to have both tank shapes, so that I can swap between the two!

LOL Jim. I think I am going to end up with three different cylinder blocks, swapping them depending on what color I like at the moment! hahaha

The bike ran reasonable well when I bought it and all appears to be in good condition. I checked the valve clearances and compression and all is within tolerance. When I took the sump off it was absolutely spotless with the gauze on the oil pick up pipe also clean. The bike has only done 22,000 miles and although I can’t validate that I believe the mileage is true.
I haven’t done anything with the cam chain tensioner but was thinking about upgrading to a ZZR1300.
The fairing is not going back on the bike and I’ve aquired a second hand petrol tank (which I’ve had painted) to fit to the bike rather than the peanut shaped one.
