Just purchased a rolling basket case '79 KZ1300, love these bikes always wanted one since I first clapped eyes on one in a showroom in 1980, looking forward to getting advice as I go for a ground up restoration.

Welcome to the forum. These folks have an incredible amount of knowledge and have helped over the last year getting my 1980 back up and running.... and with troubleshooting some dumb mistakes. haha

Welcome, Burto. I’m in the same situation - facing a nut-and-bolt restoration - only I don’t have a workshop in which to do it.

Welcome !!
Best advice I can give to "get you going" is ask that you visit the FAQ tab at the top of the page. That's where I started to help get my head wrapped around some of the issues I might face. There's a wealth of info in there.
The Search engine is pretty good too. A lot of questions you might have can be answered just by searching the site for key words and when you do a search, open up the tab "Find Posts From" and choose "any date" The default is "in the past year", but "any date" opens up the search and brings in a lot more results.
Enjoy the site and don't be afraid to ask questions. We're here to help.
Cheers,
