ZX12R 6 piston brakes was created by illusive_0ne
Hi everyone I am attempting to graft on some ZX12R 6 piston brakes I picked up for $30. I am fabricating the mounting plate from 1/4" stainless. I'll let you know how it turns out. I'll be making it the way some dude did on some Honda VTX forum. Here is the link to it:http://www.vtxcafe.com/showthread.php/44351-6-Piston-Brake-Caliper-Upgrade-How-To . Any input or tips would be appreciated, thnx.

Anything is better than our single piston calipers.

These should work great.

Thanks for posting.

Hi Tackelhappy,

any problems with them?

Can you share any info on the adapters? Are they CNC aluminium or plate?

I'm very keen (desperate) to do this mod (and my bike has been off the road for 5 years).

I put 2001 GSXR 1000 K1 6 pots on my ZZ-R1100 (ZX11) but they have a different mounting hole spacing (64mm I think) and hey have made the world of difference.

I already have ZZ-R1100 master cylinders on my 1300 handlebars as I wanted matching controls for the hydraulic clutch conversion. So the fluid displacement should be enough for 6 pots

Lads,

Be careful !!

Its best & safer to use FLOATING discs when using multi-piston calipers, as the they "mate" & "match" with the longer surface of the pad much better & prevent warping & overheating.

This is due to the length of the pads & friction surface (much longer than the silly little round standard ones).

You will also find you will go thru pads much quicker with flat non floating discs.

So Pete what "floating" disc is compatible with our KZ/Z1300 ?
