Eggs and Bacon - a days work for a chicken, a lifetime commitment for a pig.
WANTED:water pump plastic bevel gear - even broken was created by propforward
I sent my broken plastic bevel gear to Z1300.de, and wouldn't you know it, it got lost in transit.
I still hope it will show up, but I am starting the search for another one.
If you have a plastic bevel gear for a water pump drive, I would like to buy it, even if the plastic part is damaged - I at least need the metal hub.
Please PM me.
I will take a whole water pump assembly, or even cylinder block if I have to.

Why Have Four When You Can Have Six ?

Proceed with extreme caution !
There have been a number of UK Owners have bought this recon water pump gear from MCG & it has failed after 100 miles or so. It separates from the splined centre part.
As you will already know this then means a complete top end strip AGAIN to replace it............and will MCG pay for that ????????
Do yourself a good & safe favor & buy a good used one & fit that. They normally last up to 70,000 miles or more if you keep your oil level high & dont let the motor overheat, which softens the plastic making them fail.
Even if you have to buy the cylinder jugs as well to get it, its MUCH cheaper & less hassle overall.
I have nothing at all against MCG & do buy some stuff from them, but would not fit one of their recon water pump gears.
ALSO BE AWARE THAT THE GEAR ON THE Z/KZ1300 A1 & A2 IS DIFFERENT TO THE A3 / A4/ A5 & ALL FUEL INJ MODELS & ARE NOT INTERCHANGEABLE.

OK, thanks for the info.
I just found a used engine that looks in decent shape. I may buy that.
I'm not in a huge hurry, so just looking for some replacement parts.

I'm tempted, frankly, to find someone (rush gear in the USA maybe?) to make the gear out of steel, and press and pin to the hub.
I still need at least a hub though, in whatever condition, if anyone has one.

I DO HAVE A ONE IN MY PARTS KIT THAT HAS A BROKEN / SPLIT GEAR, BUT HONESTLY MATE, BUY A GOOD USED ONE & DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR.
YOU CAN TELL JUST BY LOOKING IF THEY ARE OK TO USE & MOST ARE.
ITS QUITE RARE THEY FAIL UNLESS CAUSED BY OVERHEATING OR HIGH MILEAGE.

Holy crap, that I did not know.
OK, many thanks - I will be on the lookout for a not broken one.
Much appreciated man, thanks.
So - if anyone has a line on a replacement bevel gear to suit an A4, that is what I am after. Cheers all.
