Making rear fender look new again .KZ 1300 was created by CWB
I am in a quandary as to what to do and how to do it. Rear plastic arch and fender over time have aged. No wrinkles but lost the bright new black fender look which I assume the KZ 1300 had. Mine are oxidised grey and the guard has a couple of deep wide smooth ruts running widthwise which could easily be filled with bog?.
I have painted the under side for a test with gloss black and flat black ( plastic paint) but I think it looks artificial.
I am concerned using any sort of sand paper grades as part of preparation may cause damage, so was wondering what other people have tried.
The internet is full of good ideas but this is a KZ and can't be stuffed up through my ignorance.
Any suggestions please?

Thanks for that Jorgeno, I actually have something similar on hand which I tried on a tyre. It seemed to stay tacky without drying. Will give it a try on the plastic.

I can recommend this with confidence. Used it on the black plastic trim of a '06 Ford Escape, all of which had turned a light grey-ish color. First application was impressive. The second application had all the trim looking new and it has lasted over 1 year.

Hi, a while ago a classic car restorer converted me onto this stuff - "DLux" - you only use a tiny ammount but it does work, its good against UV fading, not that we get any sunshine in the UK.
Bad news is that its quite expensive, but defo the best plastic restorer Ive used on my bikes and projects, and it keeps its shine for ages .
little video attached.
Cheers Tim

many thanks for the replies Tim,Jorgeno, Scotch ( have not forgotten about your carb cleaning tool Scotch....just not there yet) .
Some good stuff to try over the next couple of weeks. There are some pretty serious scuff marks on my plastic and I think the previous owner might have had a go with some sort of abrasive material in a couple of places. The markings are not over serious but noticeable.
Thanks again. Bill
