Hey all,

My names Chris, Just hit the 50 mark Been riding since I was 16, Raced Motocross for Honda whilst I lived in Kuwait, ME. yes, lived there for 21 years before I moved here. kuwait is where I owned my last Z1300. As most of you have, owned many bikes in my life, one of my favorites obviously the 1300. I now own an A5, last of the Carbi models, just before DFI. Great bike. Also have a Honda GL1100 & Yami VMAX1200.

Thanks to this site have just completed the AW82 coil upgrade and Pingle fuel tap. Both great mods. Now waiting on a glass fuel filter to show up for installation. I must say the coils make it sooo much better. I remember the days we used to struggle to get my 79 going.

Thanks Todd, I'm sure I would be able to contribute a bit being from the engineering background and the fact that I purchased my first Z1300 back in 83 (79 mod) which had busted a cam chain, probably due to reving the crap out of it, and also came in bits & pieces. The bike was only 4 years old and wrecking good stuff is not too uncommon in that part of the world. It was dismantled by so called mechanics who were anything but mechanics, and the engine was in bits & pieces in a wooden crate.
I was in school at the time and did not have a lot of money to be able to afford a new Z1300 and this was the perfect opportunity. My ride at the time was a Kawa Z250 . Back then we didnt have google or the internet for that matter and had to put the bits & pieces together using copies of a spare parts manual lol.. The Kawasaki agents in Kuwait were of no help at all and the only help I had was from my brother who was in the UK at the time.

Thats where it all began, and yes we still have the old 79. Will post some pics of it soon.
