There were some definite issues with the first few generations of Goldwings.

Having to remove the engine for the clutch and stator comes to mind. There were some tricks to get the stator out but in the end, a PITA.

For the one we just put back into service, I said a big thank you to God, for not having to deal with those two items.

I've seen a way to rebuild the clutch with the motor in-frame. It is neither fun, nor easy. The "cheap" solution for stator issues is to bolt a car alternator to the side of the block and run it off the timing belts.

On the plus side, any head work? Easy as pie.

Many moons ago (back when I had no space OR money) there was a guy in Connecticut selling THREE of them for something like $2800. For all three.

STILL kicking myself for missing THAT one.... :sick:

Well how about that your only three hours from me in Ohio. There was a KZ1300 listed on ebay a week ago from a guy in Mich but he wanted 5 grand for it. I do some checking for you in Ohio.
