I am a die hard Honda guy, However I couldn't walk away from these 2 voyagers at the price I gave so here goes. They need some work but look to be in decent shape one will run with some coaxing the other is a needy child. Would love to hear suggestions for repairs and restoring. Looks like I have a Full Plate on projects. I am a decent mechanic but lack any prior experience with KZ much less a DFI setup. so help will be needed. was smart enough to buy the manual and supplement but it just overloaded the circuit, LOL.

Ok, did some looking and it seems I have a ZN1300A-2. My first task is to get it to start properly. It turns over well and eventually starts after a while. run it around a bit and it runs nice, after the inital start it it will start fairly easy. Got any Ideas as to figuring out the hard first start?

Hello and welcome to this great forum.
You have TWO Voyagers? Would be nice to see some photos, if you can post some.
Good luck with the restorations. I'm sure you'll get all the help you need from the good folks on here!
By the way, which Honda do you have?
Regards,
James

Hello and welcome from the West Coast.

The best thing to do when tackling any 1300 for the first time is to have a factory Kaw Shop manual by your side.

Regarding the starting and idle issues:
Make sure you have adequate fuel, spark, and compression. If you have all three of these, your project will go much easier.

Also a thorough service from stem to stern.

When I tackle any new bike, I write up a check list of needs in descending order of importance. Once you have the basics, that will confirm if it will be a project worth pursuing or passing on to the next interested party.

One major plus you have in your favor is a 2nd chassis to borrow parts off of.

Please keep us posted and ask away.

Regards.

Todd.
