They all look good in those colours.

Mine was a Z1300A3 (rare model) which I had a lot of engine issues with so I sold it as a project to someone in Stratford (UK) in 2006.
Never seen or heard of it since !

Only about 800 Z13 A3 have been made.

It had the ignition pick-ups on the right side of the crank underneath the stator.

Thats correct, & it has a completely different CDI unit to any other Z1300 (very expensive).
It was also the first Z1300 to be manufactured in the USA (not Japan) Detroit Factory.

I had many problems with this bike with water getting into the oil.
After many hours of work & replacing water pumps & seals & having head & block skimmed, I found it had a porous head & block which allowed water into the oil when hot.
I did not want to spend anymore money on it so sold it as a project.

Not wanting to correct in public but there were two plants for the 1300. Akashi Japan and Lincoln Nebraska.

In your VIN number the 11th digit denotes the factory code.
A= Akashi Japan
B= Lincoln Nebraska USA.

If I am wrong about his feel free to correct my recollection.

Regards.

Todd.
