Hi Vilhelm,
There is a Z1300 club in Denmark. Please contact Heine Sneide, you will find him in Facebook. Since Denmark is not a large country, you should be able to find help easily. The Danish club is meeting next June, on 7-9th, I am planning to go there.

Thank you all,
Well, that's a great idea just to remove the oil pan to have a look on the chains. Maybe I do not have to split the cases after all.:)

Yes, I have been in contact with Heine Snede, and have joined the danish Z 1300 club. I also intend to go to the meeting on june the 7-9th

Great! Thank you for clarifying this Kawboy.
In both cases, I'd probably exchange either if they were close to 21 anyway! How long does it take to go over it? I'm not even sure I could take a precise measurement lying under the bike..

It's a simple up down free movement of the chain midway between the drive and driven chain sprockets. should be able to do it with a scale. Like you if I found the chain slack over say 15 mm, I'd change them out.
