Yes, it was a big project, had to strip it and then rebalance everything. It was a great learning experience and I try to fly it every week.

A 34ft steel sloop? Sounds awesome, I built a 20' catamaran 25 yrs ago from plans. How long did it take to build?

Here's what the plane looked like before stripping and polishing:

I took 6 months to do the hull and deck to painted stage then another 2 1/2years to get it in the water all fitted out and then stepped the mast and rigged it over the next 3 months.
