Just a brief post to introduce myself to everyone. My name is Steve and I live in the South Island of New Zealand.
I have a Z1300 which is unfortunately in pieces at the moment. I have the head and barrels off the motor to cure a leaking head gasket. I have had them both skimmed in a machine shop and am contemplating what else I should look at before reassembly:-Cam chain, tensioner wheels etc. I quite like the idea of a hydraulic clutch conversion.
My Z1300 has a large sidecar attached which is built for carrying gear when touring and going to rallies. It does not have a seat fitted as it is not intended to carry passengers. My wife and I are both quite comfortable on the large accommodating seat.
I hope that I may be able to other members with their bikes and also gain some ideas that may be helpful for mine.

Welcome Steve and good luck with your rebuild, my motto is if you have the motor pulled down that far you may as well go the whole hog but that's just me. Look forward to some pics of your side car ect

Welcome to the forum. Everyone here is willing to assist in whatever way possible.
I am in the same boat as you at the moment. I have the head and barrels off my beast to. I am waiting on some pistons and rings etc from Germany. Have teed up with my local engine reco workshop for the head to be skimmed and barrels to be bored when they get here (Brisvegas Aussie).Will be changing the cam chain gear for a metal one etc at the same time.
