Been riding about 44 years. I have a 1981 KZ1300 I am starting to make into a café bike. Purchased cheap with a blown head gasket(I hope). My main ride is a Triumph Rocket. I also have a couple of old Kaw 2-stroke triple(250 cc) I will work on next. I am sure I will have many questions for the forum. I live in East Tn. :)

Welcome from one of the Canadians (EH!) I see you're GMT -7 hours. Looks like that puts you in the Midwest of North America. Would be REALLY nice if you went in and set up your profile. It helps us old dogs when we're posting to know if you just got out of bed or just going to bed. Some of the fellas we've been assisting are Ausies and their clocks are up side down to ours. It helps to know when you post at 2 in the afternoon that it's 2 in the morning for them. (Some of them may still be up or NOT !!!)

hey jeff. To throw more time-zone crap your way; Here in B.C. (that's British Columbia in CANADA for some of you "yanks" :woohoo: ) we just switched to "Day light Savings time" which really doesn't mean a thing!
If you ever decide to cross West thru the "Rockies" let me know. I'll remind you to set your clock back an hour.

......and welcome (eh) to what I affectionately refer to as "Jurassic Park", because if you're not a dinosaur yourself ;) , you're likely riding one if you're on this site. :P

Be warned: We're a crazy bunch here and everyone is a target  Ultimately we get things done so jump in and get your feet wet. We look forward to helping and being helped ! :)

Hi Jeff, welcome to the forum from a cold, wet and windy UK.
Some very helpful and wise old sages on here to help with your project. As Bill said, would be good to see some pics of your Cafe Racer build.
Cheers Tim
