Welcome to the site. New myself and have to say a great site to be on and you only need to ask re any info and some one will always reply with the solution to the problem :cheer:
Must have had some big mice in the barn to eat through the seat on the Vulcan :whistle:

Welcome hoppy, hope all goes well with your restorations.
Re no-power: just a thought, but check the connections on the underside of your main ignition switch.
My 1300 had a zero power situation only last week (luckily I was at home, just about to warm her up for a run with some mates) - checked the usual: fuses, earths, wiring harness; turned out to be solder break on the main connection under my ignition switch. :unsure:

Remember, the 1300 has TWO ignition switches- one on the handlebars, one on the left side cover. BOTH have to be on to start the bike.

No real reason for this to be, other than to make it harder to steal, maybe....?
