Pete if you want an original valve that will be for show only then come for a ride and get mine it is just hanging around doing nothing. It is not repairable but is OK for show purposes
I thought you wanted a working valve so said nothing.

Well, that's right . This is not the ten commandments site- that you must do this or that, it's just a bunch of guys giving their insight and experience. We are all individual owners- we can do what we like on our own bikes. Take it or leave it.
About a year ago, just after spending alot of time and effort on my current 1300 , this guy walks up to me and tells the the kawasaki kz 1300 is the ugliest bike he had ever seen and couldn't understand why anyone would wont one, let alone spend money on it.
But it's only an opinion.

Its a shame its got to this:-

An owners asks the question if someone has a part available.

I try to help with a reply (as ever).......but also gave the owner the benefit of my experience of that part having a shaded history & not a good idea to use as a warning.

Thats all I did & all I intended to do.........but........

..............Then another completely "left field" opinion comes in on the matter from someone else & blows it out of the sky for some reason..........then admit they did not know about the issues surrounding the history of the part being bad that I had provided.

I suggest ONLY comment on posts & issues you are very clear on (and have experience with) & can offer good, useful & practical advice to owners with.

If not, just leave it alone & dont comment at all !!

Well i think this topic has been great, it has saved me trying to find a part that i really dont need.
if anyone else bought a Z1300 in boxes like myself and didnt know what was worth searching for then this topic has been a great source of information and should be left for all to reed, and make there own judgment.
