If anyone can help it would be appreciated. I am working on my 1982 KZ 1300 A4 and the rear brake light switch is missing. The switch fits into the master cylinder and held in place within the master cylinder body by two lugs protruding from the switch body. It looks very similar to the front brake switch.

Failing that is there any after market switches that fit until I can find an original?

Happy to cooperate with payment requirements and postage to Australia.

Like most of the rear master cylinder, that switch is one of those "difficult-to-impossible" to find parts. It's similar to the front switch, but the body and the plunger portion are both quite a bit longer.

Short of trolling eBay or hoping another member here has a spare, there isn't many options for sourcing a replacement. However, another option is to use a pressure switch that replaces the bolt that holds the rear brake line to the MC. I had that setup on the front MC of my bike, and it worked just fine.

I broke my OEM switch whilst disassembling mine. I couldn't find a replacement at the time so went with the banjo bolt pressure switch as Lucien suggests.

However, since then I'm sure I've seen replacement switches advertised on evil-bay. I haven't done any research though as mine is working nicely with banjo bolt solution

Thanks very much Lucien and Zed-thirteen for your support. There is a switch on ebay for US$16 which Stan G posted to me. Got real excited and then discovered the freight to Aus knocked me off by chair! I will look at the pressure switch option for the moment.

Still consider myself lucky to have a bike like this !!

Let me know how much they asked for post to Australia. Maybe I could get it here and then send you to Australia from Canada. It would most likely be much less as many sellers ask outrageous charges for sending to anywhere than USA. I think big part of it is discouraging foreign buyers as local shipping within the USA is cheap and if anything happens easier to deal with.
