You could buy one from a current model that looks the goods

That's what I was just thinking. I'll ask Kawasaki for suggestion.

Stan, if all else fails you could try Nikko horns: top quality made in Japan - (I was told that Yamaha and Suzuki use them as OEM fit) .
Ive used them in the past on a couple of classic bike restorations and they look period perfect.

Don't forget the Partzilla part number x-ref that someone on here told me about; enter the Kawa part number and it lists all other models that share the same part?

1999 K1200LT - now sold, I like them however was nearly as big as my X5 but no faster.

I think I will go the local route and as dealers to match me a current model horn fitting the original look. The suggested Nikko horns look quite good, if you google them, I'm leaning towards those. They will also fit the black/chrome theme of my bike.

Stan, looking at my zx10 B (88 - 90) series horn set, they appear to be very similar (Nikko 12v, 2.5 amp, 105db)
They would be readily available on ebay I would think...
In the pic's, the shiny one is from my 13...
