May I ask what the parts availability is like for the 1300 in Japan?

Unfortunetary, most of the genuine parts are not available in Japan too.
The used parts are available at auction like E-bay.
Altough, some genuine parts are available yet.
What kind of parts do you need?

2000 is a lot. But if it's company relocation, shouldn't you be excluded? Or if it's temporary, then you could maybe claim it back?

Speaking of parts, there are some I need. I will post later. How much cost KZ1300 in Japan? I wonder if things changed since I left. People wanted everything new. I had a Honda V45 750 cc that I had been riding for 7 years. I tried to sell it to motorcycle dealerships but they didn't want to give me even 200 dollars for it. I regret not taking it with me to Canada, because it wouldn't cost much more shipping it with the rest of my stuff. By the way, I used Yokohama System Movers. Very good price and very professionally done. That was 18 years ago, but I am sure they would offer great service now as well.

The market price of Z1300 is about from $10,000 to $14,000 in Japan, in case of good condition.
Lately, the japanese used bike market is getting better.Especially, the prices of some popular bikes(Z1,Z100MK2,Z750FX etc) are skyrocket. For those bikes, a lot of after-market parts are available.
But Z1300 is not really popular, so those parts are not available.
Some genuine parts are available,but major component,and parts are out of stock.
The web auction is really popular and really usefull to get a used parts of the old bike such as Z1300.

I checked Yokohama System Movers. They are in business.

Koba-san. That would be between 110 - 160 man?
There must be many old bikes still in Japan simply abandoned and forgotten. Many abandoned places in rural areas, mountains etc. That would be a great activity to travel around Japan looking for old motorcycles! The one I got was abandoned, and when I wanted a scooter I put an advert in the paper and a guy just told me come and take it. I wonder if there are still sodai gomi days. I am sure times have changed..
