Isn't that what Monsanto does to farmers whose fields become "contaminated" with that companies GMO seeds?


 

For those who have done their own "work-shop" rebuild......Kudos !

I chose to have a long established and well known machine shop do the required machining for my '80. They shaved the head .003", ground the valve seats and some of the valve stems. The paid very specific attention to the final shim-gap range. The pistons and cyl.'s were mic'd and determined serviceable. The cyl.'s required only a light honing and were done on a SUNAN. The Crapinimage rings were gapped but I won't use them as noted previously so will have to gap the IMD rings when they arrive (this Fri.?).

The cost was $1088.00 (all in) cdn. I estimated $550.00 to buy a Lisle plateau hone, a dial gauge and the micrometers required to do all the measurements. Still would have required the mach.-shop to shave the head ($105.00).
There's more to this type of work then simply running a ball-hone through the bores and lapping valves.
Given those notations made by the machinist ........no idiotic mistakes on my part.....because I'm not a machinist and know my limitations.

The  valve springs were checked also and all passed,  within spec.
