For what its worth, I had heard about the Liska Metal Gear being available now as a replacement for the Nylon Gear fitted as standard, but until recently did not currently own a 1300, so was very interested to see it and install one.
As I had the cylinder head off my current 1300 for new valve stem oil seals, de-coke and valve lapping, it was my chance to buy one and fit it, as the head must be removed to do this.
I can now confirm after fitting it, it is a very high quality, practical and worthwhile update for our 1300 models and makes no diffferent or additional engine noise that I can hear when fitted.
The gear is currently $99 with approx $35 shipping and the inevitable greedy UK import taxes, but in my opinion worth every cent !
