Kawasaki Part # 27010-1026 Radiator Fan switch was used on all models of the KZ1300 and ZN1300 all years. As per service manual page 39, the thread size is 1/8" pipe thread and installed torque is 43 inch pounds. Depending on which thermostat you plan on using, the set point of the fan switch should be 15 deg. F above the opening of the thermostat.

Switch on temp of 210F and switch off temp of 196F when using a 195F thermostat (standard set up)

If you elect (and not recommended by me) to go with a 180F thermostat then the fan switch needs to be changed out as well for a 195F on and 180F off to keep all things happy

Thank You Kawboy,
I order the on at 190F off at 175F
the next one they had was on at 200F off at 185F
I prefer to run it colder if I can

That's fine provided you also change out the engine thermostat for a 180F thermostat.

Hi Kawboy,

I’m intrigued as to why you would have to change the radiator thermostat. I’ve also changed my fan switch to 190f - 175f and the temperature gauge never goes past halfway. Bike definitely runs better as it had a tendency to run hot in slow traffic, certainly on a hot day. The only downside is the fan will run on for about 3 to 4 minutes after the bike is switched off.

Regards

Martin
