Noise is still there when you pull the clutch in.

sounds to me like its could be missing, how is the compression on the right hand side ?

Compression was good on all cylinders when I checked it earlier this year, I think they all measured around 110 to 130 psi but my memory is not that good. I have done bugger all miles since then.

A reminder to all that the ticking does not occur until it gets up to max operating temperature

I hate to be the bearer of potential bad news........but I have had that noise on one of my own 1300's in the past.

I rode the bike with the noise across one summer without issue and stripped the top end over the winter.

It was a snapped valve guide (exhaust on number 5). It had fractured somehow very flush with the hole it sits in inside the cylinder head. You cannot see this until the valve and springs are removed.

This is the reason why it increases when the engine is revved.

Ended up buying a whole used cylinder head with valves and did a swap.

Have a look at this link.
