Two Florida residents have been charged after failing to self-isolate after travelling to a seasonal property in northeastern Ontario.
Ontario Provincial Police received a call for assistance from the Public Health Agency of Canada July 9. Officers were asked to complete a compliance check in East Ferris, near North Bay, under the Quarantine Act.
Police found that two persons, a 68-year-old and a 70-year old, had entered Canada in Fort Erie on July 3. The couple were non-compliant with the mandatory 14-day self-isolation requirement on entering Canada.
The two are charged with failure to comply with an order prohibiting or subjecting to any condition the entry into Canada under the Quarantine Act. The two were each issued a Provincial Offence Notice that included a fine of $1,000. The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit is also involved in the matter. Both individuals are currently being monitored during isolation.
Their arrogance and indifference cost them a total of $2000.00 and they're now stuck in isolation for 14 days. Welcome to Canada !
And there's been similar examples across canada !
Maybe Canada needs to build a wall.....and make the Americans pay for it !
