In the UK most people are abiding by the lockdown rules, read today that over 2/3rds of the population support a protracted lockdown as the consequences of doing otherwise are too dire to contemplate. You get a few Covidiots (selfish bastards) ignoring the restrictions, but generally most folks recognise the seriousness of the shit we are facing.

Wish the Covidiots would read some of the forecasts from the Govt Expert Advisors about potental "second wave" mortality rates - e.g. 5 times as many people died in the 1918 Spanish Flu second wave outbreak - does not bear thinking about. One alarming fact was that in London more people died with the Covid 19 virus in the 4 week period upto 17th April, than in any 4 week period during the WW2 London Blitz, where the UK was bombed for 57 consecutive nights by the German Luftwaffe.
Puts into perspective how bad the human toll really is. .

I pulled this thread six months ago because I thought it had strayed too far into politics, perhaps it was inevitable with the US elections coming.
Hopefully, now that the elections are past this very interesting thread can be restored and updated.
Thank you
