GPS, whether personal tracking or serviced / cops, sounds a very sensible investment given the value of the bike.

If it's going to take you much more than a couple of minutes to get to your bike (after hearing an alarm or getting motion / tamper warning text) then the worry is it could be in a van and away.

By cameras Stan, do you mean a wireless one mounted on a nearby lamp-post or similar?

Yes, a remote camera with motion alert. I think there are some with a SIM card connecting to internet.
Garage is just too expensive.

Presumably would have to be battery powered?

Wifi might also be a comm's option if close enough?

I guess either way you must test the signal (GSM or Wifi) in the actual spots you consider the camera, to ensure you don't end up in a blind spot.

Are your two other bikes in the same place?
Chaining all 3 together would be a hell of a deterrent!

Sometimes CTC, Bass Pro or Carballo's have these trail camera's they can be fitted with a sim card on sale. ( a buddy of mine uses a few of these to monitor his property for security

Modern tech is great ! Nothing wrong with some simple deterrents, either.


A "latch-bar" stops the bike from being "bumped" off the center-stand.

So many things to consider...
Unfortunately the high tech solutions are costly. Simple solutions are best as first step.
