That's an intelligent choice for a fan blade alternative !  There's actually some serious engineering that goes into this type, including the OEM.
Blade pitch, camber, chord, number of blades and in the case of the OEM, an interesting asymmetry of the blades relative to each other, which I suspect is to minimalize blade/air noise.

Here's my tease for today-
If  had the time, Just for shits and giggles, I'd go with bladeless technology i.e. ala Dyson technology. Now THAT would be a head turner. Who's up to develop that??
Maybe I should just add it to the list??
LOL

an interesting read on  VTOL aircraft design using bladeless propulsion

great read on the aircraft !

As for a "Dyson" designed cooling system.  I'm sure Mr. D. could build something but it would cost $1000.00......Cdn !!!

My kz is in perfect spot for a test fan upgrade. Headers off, new mechanical seal ready for re-install, headers ceramic coated.

New ignition coils and wires at the ready too.

Also complete WiredGeorge carb assembly ready too.

I'm thinking these changes might transform the old gurl.

I carb sync'd without doing all the prep work first..  of checking supporting sytems, thinking primarily (no pun intended) of the corroded spark plug terminals and broken coil casing.

We will soon see!

D
