Me thinks me thinking is wrong...
if the goal is to dispense exhaust gasses as soon as possible, as long as possible, then one would set clearances to minimum spec not maximum. Minimum specs will lift the valve sooner, and for longer duration, maximizing flow?
Not sure what this really means for <theoretical> cooling effects. First rattle out of the brain box says 'If the ultra hot exhaust gasses are vented ASAP, temps engine combustion temps should be less'?
The 2nd rattle says 'But, what if the real cooling is via valve heat soak and temperature transfer to cooling system?' In that scenario setting to minimum spec makes sense.
That's why I aint no enji-neeeeer!

But phuck Covid home test says positive. So won't leave the house until cleared. May give me time to get some real work done on the KZ. Sigh.
Remind me never to shop Walmart again, that's my best guess of infection.
