Great to see that you have sorted it, did you have any issues removing the tachometer drive from the cover? I ask because it is so close to the sides I am not sure if I have a socket thin walled enough

I didn't have a socket with a thin enough wall. I used a pair of needle nose pliers... bad I know but I wasn't worried about chewing the old one up because I was replacing it anyways. It wasn't in super tight. I used the same pliers to get it as tight as I could and an open end wrench to carefully torque it tight. One tiny turn at a time. Didn't mark it up and it doesn't leak so I'm good.

Buy the right socket to make your life easier :)
