Those are nice numbers. Thanks for posting that. :)

After my work is done I'll have it dyno'd to see what it comes up with.

That is one healthy 1300 :) Interesting that the peak horsepower on that readout is almost 1000 rpm higher than that quoted by Kawasaki, but then if you look at the graph it hits a plateau at 8000 rpm (where peak power is as quoted by Kawasaki, also the redline on carburetted 1300s) then it makes a couple of bhp past that.

Hi,
I don't know if what I can show you regarding "Big bore Kits" helps you in any way- but maybe it gives you a feeling for what the machine shop will do:-)
I have a full Set of 67mm Pistons and a Cylinder which is machined to the right specs. When it came back from the shop I was really supprised how brave I was when I calculated the wall thickness at the base of the sleeves :-))) There is only ONE mm left.. A gave Mr. Egli in Swizerland a call and asked him about this and he said that I'm good to go for a while since the sleeve has an increasing wall thickness upwards and the combustion pressure is mostly working at the top of the sleeve around the upper piston turning point. No pressure at the lower turning point. But nevertheless it looks frightening! To be honest- I never put it in my Z1300....

Yes that really pushes the envelope as far as thickness goes.

My head and cylinder block are off and at the machine shop now. Onward and upwards.

While the work is being done at the shop, I'm having all the engine covers removed, new gaskets, checking the mains etc, cleaning our the screens and giving it a stripping and a coat of paint.
