Wait, let me guess: "Plenty of power, but bad handling, too big, too complicated, too heavy, too expensive, and unnecessary".

Probably some quip about the tacked-on radiator and ugly styling, too.

(Let me know how close I am.)

"and bad brakes", you forgot to mention the brakes :-), I like to read what people who have had nothing to do with the ins and outs of "classic" bikes think of them, if we all wanted perfection then we wouldn't own a 13 :-)

I've read far worse write ups on the Big Zed in previous UK magazines. I know liking something is a very subjective, but sadly most UK journo's just dont get it !
To be fair to this article, under "what's it like to ride" there were some objective and positive comments: the brakes were not identified as a weak point, he went to say that with modern pads and rubber they were well up for the job. Also the journo loved the engine, power, torque, smoothnes etc.
I just know that mine still puts a smile on my face whenever I open the garage door - well that is unless it refuses to starts on 6 cylinders (again)

I can't wait for the day when I get my 13 finished and roll out the driveway, go for a spin and stop at my favorite Canadian coffee shop and burp the throttle a couple of times with that DG pipe on it. I guarantee that there will be guys leaving their coffee on the tables and coming out to see the beast. Reminds me of my rides I used to go on with my 750 Triple Kawasaki. It was ugly, original green paint and had a set of Wirges pipes on it. I couldn't get in to the coffee shop for at least 30 minutes due to the cluster of guys hovering around it with comments like "Shit, I haven't seen one of those in 25 years!!!"

Ride what you love. If it puts a grin on your face, it's right for you. You might cuss it when it's not cooperating but then you get it back in running order and the smile just gets bigger. Some of my greatest accomplishments are getting done what no one else could. Keeping 30 year old pieces of equipment alive isn't easy and anyone who does I tip my hat to.

We often see quoted that the 13 was an 'evolutionary dead-end' -which is exactly why we bought them ;) So why are they starting to make 6-cylinder bikes again?
