I like your B to A conversion project. Looking forward to seeing how that new tail light fits in.

Here's a pic of a luggage rack I fabbed up for my 1300:

Oh my, my You've got the space, the tools, the toys and the projects......... I love it.

I moved back in April 2014 to a new house and had to set up all over again. Took the house with an unfinished 1300 sq. ft. garage and then wired, insulated, dry walled, taped, painted, rented a swing type diamond floor polisher and polished the floors, Lamped it with t5 fluorescents, installed New Age cabinets, erected the 12000 lb. hoist and then moved everything in to the garage. I had a Kawasaki H2 for riding, a Kawasaki h1 for restoration and 2 1976 Mercury Sno-twisters for restoration plus my 1985 Porsche928 which is almost finished (it's at the paint shop) I decided that I needed to get focused on one or two projects so I became a Kijiji king and sold the H2, the H1, and the Sno-twisters plus a 20ft enclosed trailer in one week.

Now it's time to get to work. I've spent the last 2 months gathering parts for the KZ1300 and will be diving in head first. Guess I should start a topic in New Projects. We talked about the Blog before. Any news there?

First, this is me after looking at both of your work areas!!! Especially seeing that Valkyrie in your shop, Bill!

Now, here's why I am green. This is my work area right now, and it's all in the basement, except where the bike sits under the carport and under cover. I have to shuffle things around a bit to work at times. I share the space with a washer and dryer, too! In fact, I set two pieces of plywood over the washer and dryer to use as my workbench!

When I left California eight years ago I had to downsize my equipment, so I sold off my Logan lathe and my Bridgeport mill, and picked up the little 9 X 20 Enco lathe and a new benchtop mill. My brother just passed away not long ago, so most of his stuff now occupies my floors until I can sort through it and have a garage sale.

As my username says, I build recumbent trikes for racing and handicapped riders, and I also collect and restore antique (from the '70's) trikes, not to mention flying large model planes and the new drones. So, I have a lot of mixed tools and parts. My actual garage is stuffed with more equipment, but mostly for the yardwork. If VA would ever get around to giving me a new hip I might be able to get out there to organize things a bit. But, I will never again have a shop as spacious and comfortable as what both of you'ze guys have! My shop in CA was a 30 X 90 steel building that housed my motorhome, my tractors, well,....just about all of MY stuff! I even had a cott out there for those times I just didn't feel like making the walk to bed in the house, or in the motorhome.

Come on everybody else, let's see your shops!

Hi Dave,

Yes, we've got the blog, as it were, up and running. Frankly, it's no better than a thread in the "Projects" forum. You can check out the tab entitled "BuildBlogs" at the top of most any page. It works well for linking to another blog that's hosted elsewhere on the web. It also works to display a thread such as Scotch's carb rebuild thread, which can still be viewed in the projects forum. I either method allows the author to make updates and additions at will.

Regards
Bill
