Got my current project all finished and set up today and had my first real run out (to the supermarket for essentail supplies).
Having done a full top end decoke, valve lapping and full re-shim, with new Valve Stem Oil Seals, it will now idle as low as 600rpm once I set the mixtures and did the syncs.

1980 UK/Euro Model Z1300.
Chrome Jama Exhaust System.
Later Fuel Inj Model Paint / Colours.

Great to be back on a Six.

Hi Pete,

Really nice looking bike a real credit to you. Just a heads up on the radiator guard. Had the same one fitted to mine but caused it to overheat in traffic. Since I took it off and fitted the standard guard I don’t have the same problem.

It looks fabulous, Pete. Which route did you take with the cam chain tensioner this time ?
Is there a chance you might post a video of the engine starting / running please?

Its a Beowolf Rad Grille and you are right, it is resrictive on the old air flow, but maybe because we are about 120 miles further North in Northumberland than you in Liverpool, its a bit colder still so no problem.........haha !
It was on the bike when I bought it, so will keep an eye on it as I ride it across the summer................but only to the supermarket for essential supplies of course !!!

Cheers mate.

Jim,
I have tried the standard tensioner with "Pinch Bolt" and tapped rear stop bolt mod on this one................mainly just to try it as usually just go for the ZRX upgrade tensioner, which I still have available here to swap if I am not happy with the new one, as I have never had any issues with the ZRX one to date............

Will try to get around to posting a video of it running if I take one, but I find the recorded audio from a mobile phone is pretty crap online so does not do the real sound of the engine any real justice.
