Supplement April 1/20 - Just watched the U.S. Surgeon General pussy-foot, defer and dodge direct questions regarding face-mask use AND the ad-hoc (non-existent) implementation of a national unification of stringent guidelines from the White House. His response was irresponsible and nothing short of criminal - indicating that the individual States have their own guidelines.
Well - we certainly wouldn't want to impose on their celebrated unique and varying laws, now would we. And then to watch the interview with a State Senator who on live TV said he has not received any recommendations for protocols from the Washington. SERIOUSLY?
The question was put to the S.G. - Should we NOW ALL be wearing face protection and the answer was (Para-phrasing) 'Well it's something that we are looking into:". Another W.T. F. moment !
In my opinion: If the Surgeon General could be pulled out of Trumps ass, he should be told to resign/be dismissed, and replaced with someone with some BALLS !
Better yet - A Woman !
The handling of this crisis in the U.S. is an absolute shit-show, disgrace and insult to the world, those who have died and those that are going to !

Pretty much the same in the UK where any direct question such as why are we not testing more is met with " we would like to get up to" rather than we will and another favourite is we are hoping to, the question and answer questions with the government are a waste of time as no one commits to anything in numbers or time so they cannot be pulled up on it, to coin an old English phrase its a load of bollocks

Are you sure you are talking about the correct country scotch? Did you listened to Trudeau, the zillions of ministers, officers, deputy officers whatever, in Canada? Very hard to make up whom to listen to and who the heck is the next face on TV! Trudeau, the supposed leader of the country, comes out of hiding once in a while, to read some bullshit paragraph written for him, reads it like if he was still teaching drama to 16 year olds in high school!!! When asked any questions, and that has been since 5 years ago, he and all the heads in his government recycle from the same scripts. Going like this: 'we take Canadians and Canada's interests most seriously, we communicate to our representatives keeping the best interests of Canadians.'. Zero concrete! Just verbose cutton. In the meantime, he corrects words like 'mankind' to 'peoplekind'. Preaches climate change apocalypse and charges carbon tax while private jetting around the country and the world to take parts in pride parades and social gatherings? Like the one in the UK where his wife got infected? Where is social distancing taken seriously in Canada? Why construction industry is not included in the non-essential? You know why? Because as the liberals officially said, construction brings money. Many tasks require two workers work together. But who gives a shit. -You constantly rub shoulders with other on a scaffold. And you have no idea how healthy the dozens of tenants are. But money is more important than people. And the talk is like always - bombastic. Full of empty slogans never ending! Recycled, washed out, liberal crap that obviously gets swallowed by human sheep.

Personally, I think this crap talk about Trump is narrow minded and shallow. The guy is not a smooth talker like the left, but at least I know he is not repeating the same crap the left has been recycling for decades. And the 24/7/365 attacks on him since day one? That just shows the flaws in the certain cult like ideology. Canada needs a Trump like figure, instead of a figure which gives billions of taxpayers money to every possible 'humanitarian cause' around the world. Leaving not much to fall back on in times of crisis, like now, at home!!! So, let's better talk about the potato head than whatever is in the USA. We don't make US dollars, and the Canadian dollar is at pretty much lowest since I guess 80's at 69 cents!!!! That's beside the whole virus crisis and a stupid talk and actions by mr's Tam. 0ne of the overpaid talking heads in the endless line up of stupid, or corrupt, members of this government. And same goes with healthcare 'professionals', which I experienced all too well.

Frankly, I don't understand what is your preoccupation with below the 49 parallel and Trump. Talk Canada! We have 37 million sheep, USA has 330. Does this give you some perspective? Trump is not a puppet master but works with a team. I think Trump talks shit sometimes and I wish he would shut his small mouth way more often! But overall he, his team, are doing a great job. And it seems there are people who have the best interests of Americans on their agenda since 2016. I'd vote him in 2020 had I been American, and I'd vote in 16. In Canada, there is nobody to vote for. All is just talk without substance, recycling of empty words. Canada is lost, damaged beyond repair. And the saddest thing is, the stupid young who will turn 18 tomorrow will enforse this and steer the sail to even worse waters.

Guess this sums it up for the moment. Got to get up tomorrow early to hit a construction site, take risks and hopefully survive. 0r if I am infected, I guess it will be worth for the idiotic BC Canadian government to make cutting some drywall a priority over human life. Not mentioning taking care of the healing burn - all by myself. And I tell you - since I took it over from the 'specialist experts', it's getting better!

PS. You think this is crisis? Wait till the untreated will hit emergencies, laboratories, doctors, once this easies off. Curable conditions turn to trouble, and there will be a very long line up of people needing some serious health help due to the places being closed or very limited in service at these times.

I have to side with Scotch on this one. Mistakes have been made that shouldn't have. Calling back people from foreign countries that had Covid and not quarantining them in country before releasing them to carry on was a huge mistake. Maybe the thinking was that Covid being a corona virus was the same as SARS and MERS since they too are corona virus'. Covid 19 has acted completely different than SARS and MERS and needed special attention.
The challenge now is meeting Covid head on and getting in front of it. The cost will be huge. The biggest mistake I see with Trump is that he is driven by the financial markets. His decision making is not based on scientific nor information from the health specialists and that may well be the demise of many Americans. Not shutting down places of social gatherings and allowing the general public to risk manage themselves was another huge mistake. We all as humans manage risks to ourselves and forego the risk to others but this attitude will bite you in the ass like throwing a boomerang and not keeping your eyes on it. People with Covid are out in public spreading it around and the consequences of their actions will be more deaths, taxing a vulnerable health system and an extension of the existing conditions including social distancing and no one working. If this situation continues we'll be back to the 1800's and the wild wild west.
My prediction is that Trump and the republicans will lose marginally and we'll be looking to Biden to dig us out of this incredibly huge cavern and I hope he's up for the job. Obama had a mountain to climb and I think it just about killed his spirit. Biden by his side and sharing the load like no other Vice President had in the past was likely the only way the U.S. could had pulled it off. The Americans blamed those terrible 8 years on the Democrats and then Trump came along and vowed to "drain the swamp" and bring business back to the job of running the country. And like the boomerang, focused on the financial markets for a thumbs up or a thumbs down instead of looking to the sciences or the health care advisers will ultimately bite him in the ass.

Every country can be accused of making mistakes ! Unfortunately it took varying amounts of time for them to realize this. No one saw this coming. However: once the seriousness of this situation was analysed by the factual numbers, the ignorance was replaced with action to the point we're at now; Most countries locked down despite some taking longer to do so. Strict travel bans Implemented and in the case of Europe an almost chain-reaction like implementation of the countries because of the obvious Geographical closeness.
So in more then just general terms; the planet got coordinated.
All...except the U.S. ! There are STILL 6/7? states in "the Heartland" that have done NOTHING.
Yes I'm fixated on the U.S. ( I'm 2 hours from the Wash State border). And yes: you'd have to be illiterate to miss my disgust with Donny ! He's continually minimized, marginalized and down-played this crisis from the get-go. And yes: he's "Market Driven". From the beginning, the hour by hour news feeds have over-fed us with every minute detail of the development of this Pandemic in every corner of the globe. To this end - every elementary student has a better sense of the catastrophic seriousness of what happens when the recommended Guidelines aren't implemented and adhered to - to the letter..
Except potus who has unilaterally deferred, scoffed at, down-played and ridiculed every aspect of having to make these changes......until recently. Even to this point he continues to suggest the numbers are wrong and questions the legitimacy of, and the need for a legislated coordination and organised unification of rules and distribution.
He's NOT a leader ! He's a self indulged, narcissistic sociopath who only cares about Himself, being "heard" ( "T" for Tweet) and his money.
So; Am I down on trump - Damn right !
I am NOT for it, BUT: If any one should be Militarizing a border it should be the Canadians because "T"s idea to do so to prevent infected Canadians from crossing into the US is..... retarded. Canadians should have a concern about the reverse because "below the 49th" is sinking and .........
I am proud and very lucky and privileged to be a Canadian. Unlike those who have experienced political and social repression, war, famine, genocide and unchecked disease I may have a bias for freedom, logic, common sense and fairness but I also don't have a pair of Rose-colored glasses !
Frankly: I'll take Trudeau any day. At LEAST he's coherent, yes; predictable and consistent !
Trump is a pathological liar who changes his opinion on a whim, says what is best for himself, fires anyone (everyone) who resists or objects and
has turned the White House into a house of cards, and the U.S. in general, into the laughing-stock of the globe......with the exception of Russia and China !

But to each their own.. I know where I'll be living by choice, this time next year !

Hey scotch. If your 'T' refers to Trudeau, I'd agree! hahaha But about that later.

I think you have few mistakes there. Canada responded way later than the USA. In the USA flights and travels were being canceled. The WH0 (world health organization) was making international warnings. What was doing Canada under Trudeau 'leadership'? Waiting, flying planes in. No restrictions whatsoever. I do remember it very correctly, as I was discussing it with people and my parents. We were outraged by the negligence of the 'leadership'. But what can you expect? When did the news about the pandemic started coming? USA had cases earlier, reacted earlier. Canada was still waiting. For a very long time, weeks. While there were restrictions in place in the USA, Canada was still slacking. And I do remember this! Then some lightweight action.

What Trudeau was doing in the meantime? Here for your education, and my amusement. February 6 - 10: Trudeau in Ethiopia, pitching for his future hopeful place in the UN. Giving away money, as usual. February 11 - Kuwait. February 11 - 14: Senegal. February 14, Germany!!!! But wait - Sophie Trudeau, his wife, was in the UK on a speaking engagement on March 12! That's about 2 weeks ago! I have no idea what kind of stupid has been making the response in the UK, but apparently the Trudeau's had other things on their agenda a than taking care of the Canadians during this pandemic. And I remember that very well too, because people to whom I spoke were outraged. Canada's 'leader' was absent from the country touring Africa! Trudeau announced travel ban for anything non-essential I think on March 18. Coincidence with his wife's testing positive just days before? 0r was he simply oblivious and negligent until this? A true leader? What a joke.

I watched TV and the worse of the places at it, CNN, and Trumps face was there almost every day. Speaking, having his team in front of the cameras, scientists expressing their opinions. They not just spoke, but answered questions. Trump always lets being asked questions. And Trudeau? Whenever that happens, and it's a rare event, his answers contain pretty much zero substance. Deflecting any concrete information, staying away from the subject. Just general 'uh ah'. Very insulting.

Simply put, no matter what Trump does or says, in the eyes of the 'non deplorables', aka. democrats, he was, is, and always will be in the wrong. He can't win! You mentioned impeachment. That was one of the idiotic circuses thrown at him until February 2. You have to be blind or unwell not to see that they tried to impeach him from even before he won the election. What happened to Stormy Daniels, and all the other reliable women he supposingly grabbed by the you know what? Where are they? Even better, where is the one time star character and even possible presidential candidate Mr. Avenatti? Hahaha That's a good one.

Anyway. In Canada, 0ntario seems to be the most serious place in response to this virus. BC has been no surprise one of the last putting any restrictions. And still the whole country seems not be that serious. Construction workers take public buses, trains, rub shoulders on work side, handle tools and materials to each other. You think it's possible to wash hands every time? You think it's hazardous and puts workers kids, parents, tenants at work site when entering their apartments at risk? Risk of infecting others in every possible way and direction? Do you think that's taking care of the pandemic? I've said it before. Did you pay attention when reading it? But nah, the 'leader' want enforce temporary, be it for 2-4 weeks, shut down. Because money is more important.

Trudeau coherent? At bullshit and self catering yes. At saying, reading, a bunch of slogans and big statements, mostly deflecting from any direct information connecting to a problem. At leading a country, taking care of the future of Canadians - nope. He's a mediocre drama teacher without any experience in politics, economics, war, and so on, who was is son and a trust baby of a once a Prime Minister father.

What you wrote scotch about Trump is what I've heard many times, from the 'good people', not deplorables like me. It's a mantra, a broken record with nothing new. Pathological liar, narcissistic, and so on. Like a hypocrite. That sure describes Trudeau! But no, he's just honesty and sweetness like Mother Theresa. Especially vacationing on a private billionaire's island flying there on his private helicopter, giving away millions of taxpayers money to his foundation. That's just peachy for a 'real' leader.

You are a proud Canadian. Why did you have to mention this? Can't take the heat and become offended? Are we children or grown man? haha 0r perhaps I'm not that good at English yet and can't think straight. In the tradition of discouraging constructive criticism, in the name of openness, freedom to speak and express yourself, or is having an opinion not welcomed in the not communist/socialist democratic Canada? I hope you didn't suggest I am not a proud Canadian. And I hope you suggest others being a second class citizen with less rights. I just don't agree with and dislike very, very much how Canada is governed. Perhaps you are coming from being lucky to have the sheltered life so far indeed. I'd suggest trying to put yourself in others shoes and look at thinks from their perspective. Because many of Canadian citizens can't buy a house like you could 40 years ago, and we have no inheritance coming from parents.

Trudeau gave away taxpayers money to dozens places around the world. The money needed in Canada to take care of Canadians. After giving away billions, he announced in June 2019 that Canada will give away to foreign countries another $1.4 billion of taxpayers money. There was were millions to muslims in Myanmar, for women's empowerment here and there, for equality, children, and so on. I am sure we could use it here, in Canada! I'm not sure if he is actually trying to destroy the country.

With this virus, I observed so many arrogant smart ass self righteous guys and gals have difficulty handling it, and can't put logically a few things together. I have a friend in Seattle who insists they have a Hitler in the White house! hahaha And I always thought he is intelligent. Whatever the propaganda says, whatever you think Russia etc. say about USA, trust me, I know what they think about Canada. I mean where Canada is after the 50 years, and where it's going. And what they think about the 'leader, who is a schmuck in my opinion. Trump a pathological liar, hahahah All politicians are! You can't win there without bullshitting!

Not sure where this came from, how this fits into this discussion, and at whom did you direct this. It reminds me of the ignorant lazy self centered mind's 'shut up, stop complaining or get the F out of here' attitude in Vancouver. Just wondering. But I know some people's ego's are so fragile, their bubble so leathery tough, that they panic at even a possibility of an alternative word. It would question their little crafted head space, and by definition, by them, it can't be questioned!

I just want to remind you, that I have the right to say my opinion about Canada and can do it as loud as I want.About that above quote, feel free to elaborate. I'm not easily offended.
