Yes, but you make different money in Finland!
And Canada is a at the top of oil producing countries, Finland is not. That's a big difference.

You don't know how good you've got it. £1.20 for 1 litre in Scotland. Which is the equivalent of £5.46 for a gallon.

That works out to $2.19 Canadian Dollar / liter current gas price in Ontario is $1.20 / liter
Or $6.36 US Dollar / US gallon Current gas price in the States appears to be about $2.30 USD

McZee (and Kawboy):

You are forgetting about the context! How much pounds do you make in the UK? If someone makes £1800 a month, 1.2 is quite more affordable than when someone makes CAN $1800 a month and pays $1.60 per liter. And a bonus for any 1.8k making UK guy or a gal? Converting to the almighty international US dollar (and that's what everyone wants and is easier to exchange when traveling from Mexico to Chile, China, Thailand or Borneo - to name a few), if you save a 1000 in the UK you have a budget of USD 1400 (at current exchange rate), while a Canadian has USD 764. Who can buy more nights at a $30/night hotel or $1 coffees? With my Canadian 1000 I can't visit the UK, but your British 1000 you'll be a king even in Vancouver! haha There is always the context and perspective.

A valid point Stan. But let me give you some perspective on this subject. I use a Ford transit van for my work, if I let it run low on diesel when go for fuel it will cost me around £80.00 to fill the tank. I drive away from the forecourt with the feeling that I have been taken roughly from the rear, without the use of lubrication!!

For sure McZee. Not a good feeling. And a big part of it here is 'carbon tax'. ANd where does it go? We could write a book about it here, haha, and I tell you, it doesn't go towards improving my living standards. Nasty potholes in the most obvious popular visit places would break your forks if you happened to drop your bike in them. Never change... And if you need to fill up your truck with 60 liters of gas, that's about a 100 bucks? I think minimum wage here is I think 11.35 dollars. It was 10.25 until recently.
Minus income taxes of course, and plus purchase taxes of course when you buy stuff.
Love your avatar by the way. Hope her sister will jump on my Z13 when I have it running! hahaha
