I was just wondering if any members have experience with riding both sixes, the Honda CBX 1000 and the KZ1300. How did the riding compare?
I've ridden neither so far.

Kz1300 is solid, heavy and best at touring. Torque makes it so easy. I ride two naked ones with bags, two side and one up behind.
Have tried my friends CBX, engine was perky, even racy but the front fork and frame were not confidence building.
My Benelli 750 Sei is very agile, frame, handling and engine in good balance. My 210 pounds require keeping the engine singing above 5000 rpm, the engine sound is great.

The 1300 is still my favourite, simply the best!

Stan, hi
Ive owned a couple of CBX's and they are nice to ride: failry quick and they dont feel too heavy - also the engine sounds gorgeous above 5000 rpm: to be honest Ive found them totally reliable, sadly I cant say the same about my Z13 . But to ride I find the Z13 has more presence, the engine sounds awersome and feels much stronger and torquey, and I cant believe how well such a big bike handles and brakes.

I currently have a CBX in my garage: I got her as a restoration project from a mate ages ago, she's in a sorry state but she's legit, and I really should get around to sprinkling some "magic pixie dust" on her.

Cheers Tim

That's one sinfully sorry looking X Tonto. Breaks my heart to even think that it has been let go like that. But I know you'll do it justice.
Nothing like cranking out a CBX when the revs are above 5,000. All you can see when in first gear is a blur. But as a daily ride, what a pain having to downshift 2 gears to get up enough steam to pass a car at 100 KM/H. Just doesn't have any balls below 5,000. The KZ on the otherr hand was designed as a go to for lumberjacks. She's a stump puller. any gear above 1,000 RPM and just roll it on. Reminds me of my old XS1100 Yamie.
That's enough inspiration for now. Get polishing and assembling. Riding season is just about upon us.

Thank you for the replies guys. This gets me even more excited, and definitely, KZ1300 has a true muscle bike presence! And that's what I like.
I am glad to hear what you guys said about riding and handling of the KZ. That's what I was looking for, and that's what I'm used to riding a Vmax. I have a tendency to comparing bikes from that perspective and the KZ is not very far behind it counting horses. I'm definitely used to passing cars at will at above 100 km/hr speeds! I think the transition will be very smooth.
Now back to polishing ;)
