I just started riding my 1300 as my every day rider so I took a bit of a short side trip up Pilot Butte. No one visits Bend without seeing Central Oregon from the top.

Went for another ride today, another couple of pics of some scenery and the bike.
Restored an 1976 Suzuki GT550B
Restored an 1982 Kawasaki Z1300 A4.
Also rides a 2014 Triumph Rocket Roadster, 2300cc of pure fun.

fantastic views. The bike looks good, too. Whats that exhaust like - too loud or just right?
You mentioned you had to re-shim some valves, how quiet is the engine mechanically - is there any clatter from the valve area on these engines?
By the way, those mirrors, I think, are not original, but they look a good alternative.
Keep the pictures and reports coming.

Hey biltonjim, thanks for the comments.
The exhaust is a DG 6 into 1 and makes the most fabulous sound, especially when you throttle on. At first I thought it may have been to noisy but it is actually quite mellow.
After I reset the tappets I fitted some iridium plugs and went through and reset the carb idle mixtures with the Gunson colortune. What a brilliant tool that is, takes all the quess work out of setting them up correctly.
The engine is relatively quiet, just the normal mechanical sounds one would expect, most of the noise on mine comes from the clutch, but even that is not bad.

The mirrors are just some replacement ones I got from flea bay, but they are surprisingly good, both in quality and usability.
