I am sourcing the mesh as well. There are a number available on eBay. Here is one example:

Petrol-Fuel-Tap-Brass-Filter-Mesh-Bsa-Triumph-Norton-Ajs Petrol-Fuel-Tap-Brass-Filter-Mesh-Bsa-Triumph-Norton-Ajs Petrol-Fuel-Tap-Brass-Filter-Mesh-Bsa-Triumph-Norton-Ajs Have one to sell? Sell now Petrol Fuel Tap Brass Filter / Mesh

It should be easy to cut and solder. But I am still researching.

Should have mentioned: the tap I'm referring to is from a 1986 ZN1300. Not sure if the KZ1300 tap is the same or not but I suspect it is (or similar).

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationThought this would be the way to go. Possibly using a Viton grommet. Just slip it over the end of the supply tubes You would need 2.

I went to the swap meet today and found a fuel tap screen that works very well. Below are some pictures of the screen. It had a internal pipe which I removed (took a bit of work to pop it out without damaging the screen). The bottom of the screen was an exact fit with the base being approximately 25mm and the 'flange' approximately 30mm (x10mm). I had to use a pair of channel locks to 'press' the screen into the tap body.

Unfortunately I was not able to determine which model the screen came from - the guy I bought it from had a bag of them, of various varieties - a number of them had the right sizing to work. I'm going to contact him again about a source.

PS: Just for reference purposes, the screen locates approximately 83mm above the tap body/tank interface. I haven't put it back in the tank yet but I don't think there will be any interference problems - I'll update if there is.
