Yes, I'll "weigh in", NOPE, no thanks for those things, they are just not worth the aggravation and antics needed to get the carbs only a percentage closer to the way they worked best with the stock air filter box on the engine. Besides, that is one heck of a lot of money that could be used a lot more constructively in other places.
For me, and a stock set of carbs, stock air box, ducting, but, K&N filter in place of the stock filter, works best. One FYI on K&N stuff, their filter cleaner is nothing more than off the shelf Formula 409 cleaner. I use the 409, then, wash it off with warm water, dry, re-oil with a very light oil, every 20K miles. Some, not all carb sets might need to be re-jetted, if so, hardware store .020 shim under needle, re-jet mains as needed, done, works well.
