Yep me too, any direct replacement from another model would be good to know, I'm still getting flooding problems and much appreciate parts I can source cheaply. I'm happy the £8 inline tap I'm using is working perfectly and I don't want to spend £100 + adapting for a pingel tap just to turn the petrol off.

Finally found the thread, it's in the carb section and a fair while ago, only thing I had to modify on the new petcock was the position for the vacuum line, just took the screws out and rotated it 180 deg, oh yes it's off of a GPZ900, bolts right in, do a search on that or "GPZ900 petcock" or vacuum petcock and make the search open so it goes back more than a year, cheers Pete.
P.S. put a brass nipple into the hole in number 1 inlet where you put the hose on to balance your carbs and ran that to supply vacuum, keep the hose short, I used a bit of silicon vacuum tube, think you can see it in some attached photos in the thread.

Great thanks for that, I'll keep my eyes open for a cheap 900R tap to experiment with, it seems each mod fix opens another can of worms. In the meantime I won't forget to turn the inline tap off having had had a lucky escape with 5&6 full of gas one morning  . First off I'll make sure floats and cutoff valves are working properly as yesterday it flooded when waiting for a train to pass on tickover and needed a fistfull of throttle to clear so its definately not shutting off in there, no harm done..yet :pinch:
PS am i right in thinking if the GPZ tap is fitted without the vacuum pipe it will work fine on prime and shut off in any other position, this would be better than my original tap that doesn't stop all gas when switched off?

Yeh that's right, prime on, off with no vacuum in other position, look I also did a thread about replacement needle and seat valves, seems some of the replacement ones (if they have been changed) bind up on the little retaining spring clip, the needle valve bit hooks on and won't move shut, the old original ones were better, so I put my original ones back in, if yours have been changed just check those, it seems it's a very close fit between them, just a thought, cheers
