Hi,
I'm working on my 1982 bike and after rebuilding the top end I decided to clean the carbs in solvent and afterwards in my ultrasonic cleaner. I remember that the bike didn't start easily especially when cold. The carbs where in good shape. I didn't find anything which could have caused the bad starting issue. After taking the carbs out of the Ultrasonic cleaner I dried them with pressurized air and found the cause! When I blew air thru one of the idle air circuits from the upside thru the idle air screw passage the air came out at the side of the carb. Two of the carbs have there a passage which is normally blocked with a small plug. This one is missing. Any ideas how to get this air tight? Can I use JB Weld? Or shall I use a small screw?
Advice is appreciated !

To confirm the location and exact "missing" plug, could you supply a clear photo?

Here are two photos.
You can see how far the small screwdriver slides into the passage. On the other carb the passage blocked after appr. 8mm. Out of this hole the air is coming out when I blow into the passage from up where the idle air adjusing scrwe is normally in. Another question I have is: Do I have to cover up the idle air adjuster screws again after adjusting (3 1/2 turns out right?) with something? Or can I leave them open?

Forgot to say: It's the middle carb which has an open passage.

These holes are blanked off about four or five mill down on my carbs. Looks like you've lost a blanking plug.

thanks for clarification! So I have to block that passage again with something. What should I use? JB Weld or a little screw or a ball from a small ball bearing?
