Glad to see "you went the extra mile" and checked the head bolt torque and valve lash. Most people wouldn't have. It paid off since you found 4 tight valves. Valve clearance should be set to the loose side since as things wear in the valve lashes will tighten up not loosen up.

So nice to here from somebody who is happy with the results of his hard work! I can't recall if you have shown us any photos of the bike - if not, perhaps you could. Are you still working on the cosmetic side of the machine, or can you say it is now finished?

Thanks biltonjim, I am pretty happy with how the bike is at the moment. There are a couple of little annoying things that I will be looking at. Firstly the clutch is dragging a little even though I have adjusted it as per the manual.
To be honest I have just taken the clutch cover off and removed the springs and outer plate so I can remove the plates and check them out.
Will be looking to see if there are any chattering marks on the hub that may be holding the plates up.

There is always something to tinker on, but all in all I am very happy with how she is running.

The next little issue I have is something a little out of my control. The paint that the painters put on the tank has started to bubble around the fuel cap area. Very annoying. Went back to talk to them and have found that they have either closed down or moved location.

Not sure what to do. May have to get it re sprayed at some stage grrrrrr.

I have a few photos that I will try to put up for you to look at.

Also rides a 2014 Triumph Rocket Roadster, 2300cc of pure fun.

One of our other members did a stack up of the steel plates and found warpage in the area of 2mm. That would take up a lot of the free play.

I will probably put new plates in while its apart anyway.

Very interesting. On the subject of the clutch, do you find the action quite heavy? Are you likely to carry out Scotch's modification to reduce the effort needed, or strate6 Pete's hydraulic conversion?
