Got the carbs off tonight. Didn't have much time to play so I only got two of the float bowls taken off. W.O.W..... I can't remember the last time I saw jets that looked that nasty! I have to spend some time getting rounded screws out of the other bowl. I think I'll just replace the old jets rather than try to clean them. Anyone ever soak WD-40 on the jets to help loosen them? Going to try it.

Scotch, is there a trick to removing the emulsion tubes? I threaded a screw into them and the slid further into the carb bodies very easily, but would not pull up out of the jet towers. Am I missing something? I didn't see this in your carb cleaning thread (Which IS very helpful, thank you).

They come out through the top of the carb. there's a step at the top of the emulsion tubes and basically, the main jet holds them in. push them up from the bottom.

Well, carbs are all nice and clean! If only I hadn't dropped that tiny little pilot jet in the gravel driveway........

New one ordered today. Now it's a waiting game. Life is great/sucks.
