Hello from the Netherlands
3 weeks 17 hours ago
Hello everyone,
My name is Jan-Willem and I live in the Netherlands. 2 months ago I bought my Z1300 A2. Actually, I wanted to buy one much earlier but it never happened. The motorcycle is in pretty good condition but I would like to make it a bit nicer eventually. Spraying the paint set will also be done at some point, but I'm not in a hurry. Of course, I already have the paint and decals on the shelf...... I like to do all the jobs myself and the support from the forum is great for that. So far only polished, given a major service and of course drove a lot. What a joy driving a 6 cylinder.....
Besides the Kawa I also have a Honda Goldwing GL1000 K2 and a HD Ultra Classic. Not a two-wheeler but my greatest love (sorry) is the Jaguar XJ12L series 2 1975 which I have owned for 36 years.
Best regards!
Jan-Willem

Hi Holger,
Thanks for the tip about the book. I initially wanted to order the ebook, which is very cheap
, but they don't ship it to Europe........
I'll see if I order a hard copy.
I'd love to participate in a meet or ride, but I can't find anything about when and where yet, but that will work out just fine.
Jan-Willem

Welcome! It is good to see another 1300 owner join the forum. I look forward to seeing any reports you post on the bike.
It would be interesting to see your other bikes too. I think Gold Wings of all generations are fascinating.
Ah, the XJ12 - a rare long wheelbase version. I remember those when they were introduced. The motoring journalists raved about the performance, handling, and comfort. What a fabulous engine! Does yours run on all twelve cylinders? I guess it has four Stromberg carburettors? It would be great to see some photos, please.

I'm not a very active forum member, but if I actually get going on the Kawa, I'll definitely let you know. So far, I've only replaced the original seat cover because, unfortunately, it had a small tear. I might be able to repair it. As requested, here are a few photos of my other riding gear. The Goldwing started blue and ended in original Candy Antares Red. The V12 runs just as fast on all cylinders as it does on fuel

I think that the generation(s) of Jaguars that have that body style look the best. One they turned egg-shaped, you might as well buy a Dodge Shadow.
