Ian,
After the Z1300 a VMAX is my favorite bike. They are a good strong engine & a good all round bike........and DEFINITLY faster 0 to 100 MPH than a 1300.....LOL !
When set up correctly they go like mad. the extra 45 BHP that kicks in at 6000 RPM is like a turbo !
My last one below........shouldn't have sold it.

in the shed
76 XT500
80 GS1000S
83 Z1000J ( 1261 425 cams 33 Miks GPZ flowed head and more )
84 Z1300
89 Vmax 1200
not ridden the 1300 yet, still being worked on but the max is a great ride, versatile all rounder and it sounds great with the Exactrep full bore cans.

Ian,
I know I know, I was mad to let that one go. I actually sold it to buy another 1300.
The wheels are Steve Taylor originals. Split rims with 200 section rear tyre.......very expensive. I did all the work myself as it was a standard Full Power Canadian Import when I got it.
Sold it to one of the founder members of the VMAX Uk Owners club.
You obviously have a much bigger garage than me & a very nice collection of bikes. I like EVERY one of them & have owned at least one of each of them over the last 35 years.
Respect.
