Hello Kawlover.
I'd like to hear what drew you to the KZ1300 in 1983. And it would be good to know about some of the trips you took on the bike.
I too have an '82 model in need of restoration, though mine was bought only a couple of years ago.

It was the beast of an engine. My sixer has the Vetter fairing, bags and trunk package. I simply fell in love with this bike and have been every since. When I returned to states after tour of duty, I had the fastest full dress cruiser. Fist time I rode on the autobahn, I almost lost it. So much power and with fairings and speed I got into wobble. I learned fast to respect this machine. This purchase was my first ownership of a dresser and I have always owned street Kaws, 4 to be exact, kz900 (2) and kz1000 (1). I'll be posting pic shortly.
