Hi Mark,

Here is the original wheelie man (and other stuff too ) Arto Nyqvist back in the 80s.

Enjoy,

Lare

PS That is why the original tail light lenses are so hard to find...

The Kawasaki 50 years party was today and Arto Nyqvist was there in person. The Finnish Motorcycle museum displays his original Pernod colored stunt bike which he used in shows around Europe in the 80s.

The man himself is still going strong, he rode to the party on Kawasaki Z1000 from the eighties.

Of course I had to have a picture of him and myself. He will be dropping in to Aris workshop later to see the bikes and parts made in Finland.
As you all remember, we have interesting bits available at www.kawasaki1300parts.com

Cheers, Lare

Absolute Legend..Arto was the big inspiration for wanting a Z13, there was a rumour round here in the 90's that he had died in a freak accident, glad it was untrue :)..he's indestructable! Yabadabadoo.

Yes, good to see Arto and Gary still around, sadly 2 other 1300 stunters are not, Doug Demokos and Dave Taylor.

Yes Charlie, l remember that rumour , from memory Arto was on the grog at a party and fell of a roof? and broke his leg or foot? Rumour was he died, but showed up some time later to do a stunt show with his leg or foot in plaster, can't keep a good man down.

l too was inspired to buying a Z1300 by Doug Demokos doing his thing on a 1300, here's a pic l took in about 1981??, think l was testing out my new camera, look in bottom LHS, think that is Doug on cover Bike magazine l had stuck on my wall.

l'm taking a picture into a mirror to see what happens.
