Thanks for the replies guys; this site has always been a godsend. I posted my problem in a bit of a panic I couldn’t believe it wouldn’t run, I pretty much knew it was the carbs but I wanted my suspicions confirmed. I didn’t drain the carbs before I put it away for the winter, so that’s a Nobel prize for stupidity awarded to me. In my defence I usually start my bikes and let them tick over for a short time. I do this every week over the winter months. I didn’t do this on the big Z because I have had the tank, front mudguard and panels in the spray shop getting painted. I have them all back on the bike and it’s looking like a million dollars. I will post some pictures if it ever stops raining here in Scotland. I have a spare set of carbs which have been sonically cleaned and re-built, so I set the jets to three turns out and fitted them. It started first time and seems to be running pretty well. I will colour tune and set the carbs later today, might even take it for a short run if the roads aren’t too salty.
I will strip the original carbs later to see what’s blocking them. :pinch:
Thanks again, you can't run a big Z without reference to this site.
